Context
The evolution of environmental legislation in Brazil and worldwide creates a series of new challenges and opportunities to several business sectors. Discussions about sustainability get gradually more emphasis in the corporate agenda, together with a larger perception and consciousness of society about the environmental risks associated with the use o natural resources, manufacturing processes and consumption and post-consumption phases, in addition to a stricter formulation and implementation of environmental policies by the public power. Such complex and dynamic reality requires a differentiated paradigm from Law professionals practicing in the realm of the environment, in order to allow the adequate comprehension of current needs and the consistent and appropriate handling of the legal environmental problems that are brought to their attention.
